I think I can finally now, walk with my head held high and believe that I am indeed, pretty clever. What a year. I've had a great year teaching my 200, 7th graders; managed to raise two awesome teenagers; and battled my way through some serious health issues, and now I've gone and got a masters!
Now, disbelief over, time for a brief reflection. It's simple really, I started off not really knowing anything about technology in schools. Now I know a lot. Lots and lots of great stuff that I can use to teach and help school districts with.
And what next? For me I want to keep up with everything I've begun. I have a meeting scheduled with the new principal of my school to present my BYOD proposal of centralizing the system and not having any extra devices in the classroom. There are rumblings of me sharing my findings with other middle schools in the district. And, the cherry on the cake for me, I get to stay at Touro for a while as they've brought me on as adjunct faculty to teach the Master's program next semester.
All in all, it's been a magical, wonderful year of learning, experimenting and meeting people. Thank you, Touro and thank you, Pam.
